The kids had a great time on Halloween. As you can see from the pictures, Brooks was Spiderman and Maddie was a princess (a pink dress, of course!). They definitely understood what Halloween was all about this year. They were amazed at all the candy they got and probably equally amazed that they were not allowed to eat it all at once. After attending about 3 Halloween events, we were glad it was all over.
Brooks had an assignment in school last week where he was supposed to dress up in what he wanted to be when he grew up. His choice varied over the week from Doctor to Cook and finally we decided on a Pilot. Gene helped him make a pilot's hat out of construction paper and cardboard. He made a flight pin out of yellow paper and pinned it to his suit jacket. Suddenly, Brooks looked really concerned and told us he didn't want to be a pilot anymore. We asked him why and he said that he couldn't fly that well. He really thought he was going to have to be a "pilot" for the day. The poor thing looked scared! We explained to him that it was just pretend and he wasn't going to have to do anything more than carry around his toy airplane. He was excited once he got to school and saw everyone else dressed up, too.
Maddie is doing great and she loves to play with all of her princess stuff. She absolutely loves ANYTHING pink. Too cute!
I hope everyone is doing well. The weather the last few days has been very rainy and cold so we are all ready for a chance to go outside. I hope the weather is better tomorrow!
